Year of Birds Embroidery Kit
Year of Birds Embroidery Kit
This large hand embroidery kit combines 4 smaller seasonal bird designs (find them individually here) into a year of feathered friends! Choose to recreate this colorful wreath using a traditional 9 inch embroidery hoop or grab the double hoop kit from the drop down menu. Be sure to read the details about each option below. While the included hand embroidery stitches are beginner friendly, the size of the project makes this design more suitable for crafters with hand embroidery experience. The double hoop kit is best suited for intermediate stitchers familiar with pattern transfer techniques.
This hand embroidery kit is available in two options:
1. Double hoop style. Your kit includes 2 hoops (9 inch, 3 inch) and Kaufman Essex Yarn Dyed line in "chambray" (the light blue grey I used for the sample hoop) fabric. You must transfer the design yourself. This design is quite complex so please be prepared to spend an hour tracing the design by hand. Other options include printable stabilizer but please be sure to test your method to ensure it's erasability. Some printer inks are not compatible with this method.
2. Regular hoop style. Your kit includes 1 hoop (9 inch) and blue grey fabric permanently printed with the design. This fabric is not stretchy enough to be double hooped so your final hoop art will be framed in a single 9 inch hoop.
All kits also include:
- 32 colors DMC embroidery floss organized on a floss card
- Embroidery needles
- The color printed embroidery instructions
- A copy of the Beginner Guide
To complete the double hoop project you will also need:
- Scissors (embroidery and fabric)
- a pen or tool (such as printable stabilizer)for tracing the design
- Glue for finishing (Aleene's, hot glue gun, etc) or you can lace the back of the fabric by hand. See details here: Double Hoop Assembly Guide
The embroidery pattern includes a link to the individual seasonal bird video tutorials on YouTube, stitch and color keys, a color close up photo of stitched pattern.
