Couching

Couching. The couched thread is pulled up at the start of the line at A and goes down at the end of the line at B, leaving slack. The couching thread is then used to tack down the couched thread along the curves of the line. Both threads are anchored once the desired line is created. This stitch uses two working threads, which can vary in thickness, type and color. Couching is a great linear stitch for lettering and for creating stems or vines.
