Chained Feather Stitch and Variations
Chained Feather Stitch * Chained Feather Stitch Fill
Chained feather stitch. Come up and go back down at A, leaving a loop. Catch that loop by coming up at B and going back down at C, creating a long anchor stitch. Continue to create these long-tailed detached chain stitches, alternating the angle of the stitch and lining up the anchor stitches so they appear to all be interconnected through the chains.
Chained feather stitch fill. Begin with a centered detached chain stitch, coming up an down at A and then anchoring with a straight stitch from B to C. Continue filling down the shape, starting the detached chain stitches at the top edges and angling them so they cross back and forth over the center line.
