My newest embroidery portrait is now available as a downloadable pattern! Her crown is created using surface embroidery techniques and stumpwork, to give a totally unique, three dimensional look. The included instructions include basic directions for completing the stumpwork elements but you may benefit from additional instruction if you are new to the technique.
The surface embroidery stitches used in this design are easy, but putting them together in this way makes them a bit more difficult. The hardest part may be transferring the pattern to fabric and maintaining the shape of the face while stitching.
Your purchase includes the Modern Cameo embroidery pattern and a copy of my beginner guide. The embroidery pattern includes written instructions and suggested stitch order, stitch and color keys, a shopping list with suggested DMC embroidery floss colors, close up photos of stitched pattern, a stumpwork placement diagram and the PDF design sized for a 9 inch hoop, ready to print (shrink, enlarge or crop to meet your needs).
The beginner guide includes a supplies list with suggested products based off of my experience, tips on how to get started, including pattern transfer suggestions for future projects, plus diagrams of stitches. The beginner guide can also be found onlinehere with helpful videos, plus you can find some additional tutorialshere.
