Essex Linen Blend Fabric Bundles
These fabric bundle include fat quarter cuts (18 x 22 inches) of linen blend fabric from Kaufman Fabrics. The Yarn Dyed Essex colors have an interesting mix of weaved colors while the other Essex options are solid in color. While I try my best to capture the colors with my photography please note that there are differences in computer screens.

"Jessica, what kind of fabric do you use?" I'm so glad you asked and I'm so happy to now be able to now carry my favorite fabric for hand embroidery!
I use Kona cotton from Kaufman for the majority of my hand embroidery work. The exception would be when I use Kaufman's Essex family of linen blends for my double hoop projects and portraits. And for when I'm simply looking for a little more texture in my work!
This linen blend is thin enough to use the light tracing method for pattern transfer for any fabric color. Erasable fabric pens are great for lighter colors. Chalk pencils and gelly roll pens work well for darker colors, with "charcoal" being a bit trickier. Printing or tracing to a stabilizer may be the best option with this rich color. Be sure to test your tools and understand permanence before you begin.
