Kona Cotton Fabric
Coming July 2020!
Sold by the yard.
"Jessica, what kind of fabric do you use?" I'm so glad you asked and I'm so happy to now be able to now carry my favorite fabric for hand embroidery!
I use Kona cotton from Kaufman for the majority of my hand embroidery work. The exception would be when I use Kaufman's Essex linen blend (also available on my website) for my double hoop projects.
Some people find this fabric too thin but I prefer it. You may want to use a doubled over cut of fabric if you find you need something thicker. I do not wash or iron the fabric before I use it for hoop art.
This cotton is thin enough to use the light tracing method for pattern transfer for any fabric color. Frixion pens and erasable fabric pens are great for lighter colors. Chalk pencils and gelly roll pens work well for darker colors. Be sure to test your tools and understand their permanence before you begin.
