Tropical Plants Hand Embroidery Pattern and Kit

Tropical Plants Hand Embroidery Pattern and Kit

Regular price $26.00 Sale

This is a perfect beginner kit for those of you who can't get enough plants on pink! Or maybe you just don't have a green thumb and need some forever foliage in your life. Either way this is a great hand embroidery project for people new to the hobby. You can keep the design super easy and simply outline the elements. Or, if you are ready to spend some time with your hoop you can fill in the elements and get lots of great practice with satin stitch. There are only 3 skeins of floss to keep track of so this is one of those projects you can easily toss in your bag and pull out when you find a moment to sneak in a few stitches.

Please see this tutorial if you are interested in the beginner version of the pattern to learn different linear stitches - great for lettering and line drawn patterns.

Your kit includes:
- 3 skeins of DMC embroidery floss
- A piece of cotton fabric stamped with the design. Grab the full color printed version or the fabric with the light grey stamped guidelines. These guidelines are permanent and you will need to cover them with your stitches.
- One 4 inch or one 6 inch wooden hoop (choose from drop down menu). You may want to invest in a high quality wooden hoop for stitching and save the included hoop for framing your finished work.
- 2 needles
- A print out of the design for you to trace (for champagne fabric kits).  Please see my directory of design transfer methods here.
- The instructions for stitching the pattern (described below)

The embroidery pattern includes:
- Stitch and Color key
- Full color close up photo of stitched patterns
- Pattern for a 4 inch and 6 inch hoop ready to transfer to fabric for future projects

The beginner guide includes:
- A supplies list with suggested products based off of my experience
- Helpful tips and tricks
- Diagrams of stitches

If you are new to embroidery please find information about the basics HERE (including a stitch guide and information on hoops, fabric and floss) and additional tutorials HERE

You may want to invest in a high quality embroidery hoop if you have trouble maintaining tension with the included hoop.  I bind my hoops with fabric or fabric tape to help, but you may find plastic, metal or high quality wood hoops easier to use.  You can then use the wooden hoop included in the kit for framing your finished work.

This pattern is for personal use only. Please do not copy or resell finished product.

Happy Stitching!
